Why players of a fantasy football continues to increase

With the internets power over making a fantasy football from a form of a pastime which includes sports played in gyms, bars, and residential places to a multi-billion dollar business according to FSTA or the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, it sure made a lot of people become interested with this type of gaming experience. Indeed, this fantasy football is one of the most popular fantasy sports which until now still continues to attract quite a number of people to play in this fast-growing game.

Composition of a fantasy football league

Typically, a fantasy football league is made up of ten to twelve teams. Each team must therefore have their own mock drafts just before the season opens. Since players on this game draft the real players in a team, they are advised to keep in touch with everything that happens during the start of the season. The real players performance really matters to the owners of their team. For example, if a member of a team decides to toy with his current game, the owner may not have the chance to qualify for another round thereby losing his chance of winning a great sum of money if bets take place.

Types of fantasy football leagues

There are three major types of leagues in a fantasy football. A redraft league begins without any players at the start of each season and the owner shall draft a whole fantasy team. In a keeper league, owners are allowed to maintain a handful of players they owned during the previous season. They may eliminate some from the draft. While in a dynasty league, the owners are allowed to maintain all their players they owned during the previous season.

Two main formats of how players are drafted

Serpentine draft: which means each team acquires a draft location and selects a player
Auction system: where some form of bidding takes place and owners bid for their favorite team

What are the owner's power over his set of players

In this type of game, a player or owner of one team shall have the choice of drafting a new team every year. However, he shall also be allowed to keep some of the players of the team from not entering the draft. In some cases, fantasy football leagues even have made as far as to build dynasty leagues where the owner may have the privilege of keeping his team from the past seasons and only drafts some of his incoming rookies. This type of scheme is the same as the real workings of a real football league. Members of an owners team who are not drafted are considered as free agents and may only be selected by exchanging other members from the owner he currently possesses and making them as free agents. Rules over this matter usually vary from one league to another.
