Managing a football team seems like an exciting and glamorous job, doesn't it? But wait till you try it yourself with a fantasy football team and you'll see that it's more hard work than anything! Here's some fantasy football advice to help you survive till the next round. Use Cheat Sheets If you've got a healthy dislike for cheating, do understand that a cheat sheet doesn't really help or make you cheat but rather, it's just there to serve as a guide and make your responsibilities as team owner easier to perform. A cheat sheet will especially help you make the right decisions on draft day. Make Weekly Checkups Check and evaluate your team lineup every week. Make sure all of your players are in fighting form. See if there's anyone placed on the injured list so you can replace them immediately. Check if any of your players are on their bye weeks. Gear Up with Mock Drafts Concerts, plays, and various events enjoy smooth performance not because the players are especially good or lucky but rather due to the frequency of which they've practiced and rehearsed. You need to do the same thing for draft day. Participate in mock drafts to have an inkling of how it would feel and what to expect come the big day. Let Your Tongue Sleep about Sleepers A sleeper is any player envisaged to achieve greater success based on his past seasons performance. If you've identified and successfully won such players, don't blab about it to the other team owners! Let their performances speak for themselves in the future. Familiarize Yourself with the Rules One common but extremely costly mistake that novice team owners commit is neglecting to read the rules of their fantasy football league. It's a mistake that's guaranteed to haunt you forever so don't let this happen! Read all the rules and if in doubt, don't hesitate to ask questions! Consider Schedules Wisely Another error endemic to newbie fantasy football team owners is their overestimation of the importance of schedules and match ups. Although the schedules of some teams may look more grueling than others, don't consider this as a major factor in your decision making process. It matters, yes it will, but never as much as other people think! Ask for Help Besides asking help about the rules, don't hesitate to ask for playing advice, too! It's better however to ask for advice from team owners of other leagues to avoid cases of bias.
