A Quick Guide To Fantasy Football Cheat Sheets

By: David Riewe

Fantasy Football is all about running your very own football team. And an important aspect of your job as a team owner or participant in Fantasy Football is acquiring or dropping players on your team's roster. And for this, you will need the indispensable Fantasy Football cheat sheets.

Before you set out to buy or create your own Fantasy Football cheat sheets, you must first know that these tools are inappropriately named. Cheat sheets aren't used for cheating; instead, they assist a team owner like you in choosing or picking up the players that will fill in your roster. Basically, these tools are made up of the summarized information about current professional football players.

Typically, Fantasy Football cheat sheets are composed of seven categories or sub-headings which are largely based on the positions of the players plus one cheat sheet for the top players for the season. Essentially, you have a separate cheat sheet heading for each of the following positions: quarterback, wide receiver, running back, tight end, kicker, team defense, and of course, the Top 100 players.

The cheat sheets are most important during the opening series of the draft auction; when you will be doing your very own player picks. The cheat sheets basically tell you which players of the NFL have the highest performance ratios and who among the players are popular. The data that serve as the basis of the cheat sheets come from magazines and other materials of the sport, but there are also parts of the cheat sheets that have no supporting statistics and can therefore be subjective in nature.

Today, more and more participants in Fantasy Football prefer buying cheat sheets than making them. And buying cheat sheets is more practical than making them, especially for those who don't have the time and the research materials needed to come up with a decent list of desirable football players.

If you are one of the participants in this fantasy sport who need to use other people's cheat sheets, you must always remember that these tools are actually opinions and, therefore, not one hundred percent accurate. Sure, they are backed by actual numbers that reflect the players' performance during the last season; but still, a large part of the cheat sheets are based on some other guy's viewpoints.

But despite this shortcoming, there is no denying that Fantasy Football cheat sheets can provide you a way to effectively plan for the draft or the player picks that you will do for the current season.
