Which would you like Real Estate Auction or Insurance Auto Auction

In a recent post,  Poor Keyword Research Causes Anxiety Attacks I received a comment from Jason Chandler in which he wrote:

“We have been told over the years that simple KEI is not the only factor. Keyword research also involves allinurl, allintitle and some other calculations AFTER KEI…”

He is absolutely correct.  Just because a page has the search term you are targetting doesn’t mean that page itself is a competitor.  Take this weeks seed search term of auction.  Without using the allintitle or allinurl I can pick up any page that mentions the word “auction” as a competitor when in fact there will be some that are not.  By using the allintitle and allinurl we get a better idea of which pages are targetting the keyword.

Lets see how that happens in action.  The first set of results below are from running auction with no additional directives to the search engine.

In the above results I would be tempted to go after property auction or insurance auto auction

But lets see what happens when we only accept pages where the search term appears in the title:

Notice how we picked up real estate auction now.  What happened was in my first run real estate auction showed such a low KEI that I didn’t even consider it.  But most of those pages with the phrase real estate auction were not true contenders because they did not contain real estate auction in the title.

To further qualify I ran the report with the allinurl qualifier which will only look at pages that have the search term in contained in the url.

The search term real estate auction still shows a strong KEI.   Notice that the KEI for insurance auto auction dropped till it was taken out (fell into the low 80’s).  Same thing happened with foreclosure aution.

Online Auction started out looking like the best but fell from a KEI of 1804 to 374.

Though any of the search terms with KEI of 100 above will work well, my choice is real estate auction.   I liked it enough to set up a squidoo lens

Lens Building & Money Making In A Web 2.0 World

I’ve started using Squidoo Lens’ to target profitable niches and drive traffic to affiliate sites.  For example, I set up the Squidoo Lens
http://www.squidoo.com/anxietyattacksymptom
to target Anxiety Attack Symptoms and promote my blog Anxiety Symptoms

Below is an excellent article on the benefits of using Squidoo

Squidoo, one of the most revolutionary sites to emerge from the Web 2.0 phenomenon, can best be described as a cross between a mini site, a MySpace page, and a blog. If you are looking for a free and fast way to build traffic and make money online, this is it! Any internet marketer who is not building lenses on Squidoo is missing out on one of the quickest and easiest money making opportunities.

Intimidating as it may sound, a Squidoo ‘lens’ is just a simple one page website on Squidoo. To build a Squidoo lens all you need to do is write an article pertinent to your area of expertise, put it together on one page, and submit it. Squidoo offers a range of innovative tools to make the whole process simple, easy, and very creative. This simple one-step process establishes you as an expert in your field, and if your article is interesting enough, it will send the right kind of traffic back to your site.

Here are a number of pertinent facts about using Squidoo and the many ways you can use your Squidoo lens to build traffic and make money online:

• Squidoo lenses are remarkably easy to build. Even if you are a novice to website or blog-building, you could create your Squidoo lens and have it up and running in less then twenty minutes.

• Squidoo lenses are built around modules. Depending on what you intend using your lens for, there are dozens of modules to choose from including the more popular modules for YouTube videos, modules for making lists or modules for Ebay and Amazon auctions.

• Squidoo lenses are very highly ranked on Google, offering you a fantastic opportunity to build backlinks to your primary company website.

• You can also use Squidoo lenses to generate traffic to your primary blog by using the RSS feed module. When you load the RSS feed from your blog, Squidoo lenses automatically update as you revise your blog.

• Squidoo lets lens-masters use third-party advertising on their lenses. This means you could choose to promote your own company website or you could choose to promote your favorite affiliate product.

• Squidoo’s main revenue is earned from affiliate advertising with several sites including Google AdSense, Ebay, and Amazon. They monitor the earnings of every module and will split 50% of the profit with the creator of the lens.

• You can use Squidoo’s Ebay module to select products on Ebay by seller or by keyword. If you are marketing a lot of products on Ebay, this is a great way of generating free traffic to your auctions.
