Use Car Buying Guide to Buy Old Car or Buy A New Car

Tonight I was researching a car buying tips portal that hadn’t been doing so well.  Seems it was focused on car buying and car buying tip for its target keywords.  After checking those phrases I found car buying tip has under 1,000 searches a month and a very low KEI of 1.87.  The only thing really bringing traffic to the site were links from articles that had been published by other sites.

Using data from Niche Inspector I will be setting up to target the following:

Buy Car, Car Buying Guide, Buy Old Car, Buy A New Car, Buy A Used Car

Now we can see from the chart above that those niches are profitable.  The question is “What do those people want to spend money on?”.  Are they interested in actually buying a new car or information on how to buy a new car?  Maybe they want a free car quote?

The strategy I follow, which I cover in the upcoming “Unlocking the Niche Code” that I will be releasing to my readers, is to give them a free email mini course, thus teaching them to read emails from me and allow me to build rapport with them.   Having established that you can use surveys to learn more about your niche.

The Real Cause of Global Warming and Climate Change

Working futher with the adsense portals I found the one on Global Warming to have some profitable keywords. After I uploaded the adsense portal I plugged the search term Global Warming into Niche Inspector and here are the keywords I am targeting.

Global Warming and Climate Change and Global Warming have attractive KEI values above 100. The others, causes of global warming, how to prevent global warming, global warming prevention and how to stop global warming are attracting the highest advertiser bids.

Focusing on those key phrases I then set up a squidoo lens: Climate Change and Global Warming which has a link list for the articles in the adsense portal, global warming videos, updates from news feeds, a list of books about Global Warming that users can vote on, latest books marks from Del.icio.us on global warming.

Once that was set up I spent some time visiting other lens that came up from searching on global warming and did some social networking. This would involve ranking others, leaving comments, adding them to lens roll, stumbling them or adding to Del.icio.us, ect.

While visiting the different global warming lens’ I came across a lens on polar bears which reveals the real cause of global warming and climate change :-)

Social networking for opportunity seekers!

Internet millionaire Joel Therien, president of armandomontelongo.com and Hotconference.com, two very popular websites has just launched a new site called Armando Montelongo.com.

This site is a social networking site catered to one market, entrepreneurial people and business opportunity seekers.

“The site is there for all types of people who want to meet with other who have some of the same business interests” says Therien ” It caters to any type of opportunity, investment clubs, franchises, Network opportunities, Day traders, you name it and the site caters to it.

With so many filters on the internet, even legitimate subscriber email is getting blocked, which unfortunately rendering newsletters somewhat ineffective leaving opportunity seekers no valid or cost effective way to find or communicate with each other.

ArmandoMontelongo.com is very different in that it allows people to communicate in real time audio and video conferencing in a secure environment.

People can join free knowing that others on the site will enjoy hearing about their opportunities.

Don’t Pull Your Hair Out Over Laser Hair Removal

Today I was checking the profitability of some Adsense sites that I downloaded from my PushButtonPublishing membership site and found one that hadn’t been beaten to death yet.

Laser Hair Removal

Usually by the time resale right products or turn key sites become available in most membership sites it is because the original author has already made it through the peak of what he or she can earn from selling the product or running the site. I generally find I can make use of them by either repackaging or in the case of adsense sites, adding to a domain that has traffic in niche that would be find the content interesting. In the case of Laser Hair Removal I added to a PR4 domain I have, DavesHealthBuzz.

You will notice in the chart below that Laser Hair Removal falls short of the KEI of 100 that I like for minimal. The reason I am considering putting effort into this Adsense Portal is because of the page rank of the site it is associated with and the existing traffic on DavesHealthBuzz.  Also, there is some serious cash being spent in this area and affiliate opportunites.

Ok, so here we have Laser Hair Removal with 27,544 Searches and 10,900,00 pages matching in Google. Looking at the google ads that appear on my Laser Hair Removal Adsense Portal it appears the actual clinics that perform Laser Hair Removal.

A quick look through the pages that come up in a google search for Laser Hair Removal show there are many forums and information sites about Laser Hair Removal.

At the present I simply made some modifications to the keywords on the portal, uploaded a sitemap to google, posted an article about Laser Hair Removal on my blog.

Due to the competition and lower than desired KEI there are some things I could do to offset that:

  1. I could have someone write a few articles for me on the subject of Laser Hair Removal then use iSnare to distribute the articles which will build many backlinks to the site.
  2. I could also look into developing a mini course on Laser Hair Removal which I would use to build a mailing list.
  3. Participate in discussion groups about  Laser Hair Removal and other Hair Removal Techniques.  This would also include visiting blogs and giving useful comments on posts.

Ok, Like the subject says, I am not going to pull my hair out over this.   For now I will leave it to be indexed by google and visit a few blogs, make some comments and do some trackbacks. But I think with the money people are spending on this Niche there is some good affiliate potential  and may be worth putting in effort on items 1 and 2 above.

What do you think?  Would you pursue it?

Yooter Free Keyword Selection Tool

Today while working on a new report, Unlocking the Niche Code, I went to http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/rc/srch and couldn’t locate the free keyword research tool.  (Possibly I just needed another cup of coffee).  It seemed Yahoo, since buying Overture, has decided to move things around.  So, being impatient I went to google and found another free keyword research tool provided by Youter.

Yooter InterActive Marketing, LLC is one of those success stories that make headlines every so often. The firm was started in late 2004/early 2005.  By 2006 Yooter had nearly a dozen employees and was growing at such a rapid pace that industry trade magazines and news sites were reporting on the breakneck speed of the companies growth. Between 2005-2006 the company client list included several NYSE and NASDAQ traded firms such as Primedia (NYSE:PRM) and AllScripts (NASDAQ:MDRX)

Yooter has two different options for researching keywords.  Both versions tell you how many times a keyword is typed in Yahoo! and MSN per month. It also allows you to export the keyword list in many formats.

1. No registration
http://www.yooter.com/keyword/overture.php

This tool uses the Overture / Yahoo! search marketing results. Yooter states they feel that it’s better to get a larger sample from both tools in order to actually get a better sample of the keyword search volume.

This keyword tool enables you to select from 16 different countries. Simply type in your query and select a country of your choice. The most searched for keywords per month will appear on the results page including their search count. This tool currently works with Yahoo and MSN. Google is not included in this currently, however from our research Yahoo and MSN combined are roughly the same amount of traffic as Google, so just double whatever figure is shown.

2. Registration Required
http://www.yooter.com/keyword

This tool gives you search volume estimates, similar to the Overture Keyword Selection tool.  The Yooter Keyword tool also gives you recommendations for alternative keywords as well.  The Yooter Keyword tool also does one thing that many enjoy, you can export to a .CSV file that opens in Microsoft Excel, Open Office or Google Spreadsheets. The Tool is free, and it’s free to register.

Yooter uses an API from Keyword Discovery. http://www.keyworddiscovery.com

As I read the line above I received an email from “Sales” with the subject Trellian Login Details.  So I had just registered with Trellian and can get a whopping 10 search results unless I upgrade :-)  So I figure that IF I upgrade then Yooter makes an affiliate commission.  No problem, I am actually kindof impressed how they marketed that.  However, they are lucky I didn’t just delete the confirmation email because it came from a different site than what I registered at.

I am having problems accessing the Non Registration Required link.  The search results page gives
Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to inventory.overture.com:80 in /home/yooterco/public_html/keyword/class/html.class.php on line 166

After all that, I think I would just prefer to use wordtrackers free tool because it at leasts gives you 100 results where Trellian is only giving 10

On another note, I mentioned at the beginning of this post that I was working a report, Unlocking the Niche Code.  In this report I will show you a method of finding a Market first that spends money, determining what they want and give it to them.  Once we have determined a niche is spending money and find out what they want we can either develope a product for them and sell it to them or recommend an affiliate product and earn commission.

I plan to have that report out before the finish of the new year.  The report will be Free and a rebrandable version will be available to registered users

Travel Reward Credit Card and Travel Insurance Niches

I recently noticed my Budget Travel portal wasn’t very profitable.  Looking at what Niche Inspector shows for “travel” using the allintitle and allinurl qualifiers I see it wasn’t targetting any profitable niches.

Here is the report using the seed word of “travel” with the allintitle qualifier.  Both Travel Insurance and Travel Reward Card look very good.  Both have KEI above 100 and have nice profitability.

NOTE: The second column (Google/Results) shows the number of pages that match the result without any qualifier.  So if you just google “Travel Insurance” you would find 76,200,000 pages.  Googling ‘allintitle:”Travel Insurance“‘ results in 823,000 matches, ‘allinurl:”Travel Insurance“‘ yields 526,000 matches.

travel” seed word with allintitle qualifier

travel” seed word with allinurl qualifier

I mentioned earlier I was prompted to analyze the word travel because my Budget Travel portal wasn’t very profitable.  Using what I know from the charts above I can build squidoo pages to promote profitable pages within the portal.  Two I see is Travel Nursing and Travel Nursing Job

If you have any comments I would love to hear them

Which would you like Real Estate Auction or Insurance Auto Auction

In a recent post,  Poor Keyword Research Causes Anxiety Attacks I received a comment from Jason Chandler in which he wrote:

“We have been told over the years that simple KEI is not the only factor. Keyword research also involves allinurl, allintitle and some other calculations AFTER KEI…”

He is absolutely correct.  Just because a page has the search term you are targetting doesn’t mean that page itself is a competitor.  Take this weeks seed search term of auction.  Without using the allintitle or allinurl I can pick up any page that mentions the word “auction” as a competitor when in fact there will be some that are not.  By using the allintitle and allinurl we get a better idea of which pages are targetting the keyword.

Lets see how that happens in action.  The first set of results below are from running auction with no additional directives to the search engine.

In the above results I would be tempted to go after property auction or insurance auto auction

But lets see what happens when we only accept pages where the search term appears in the title:

Notice how we picked up real estate auction now.  What happened was in my first run real estate auction showed such a low KEI that I didn’t even consider it.  But most of those pages with the phrase real estate auction were not true contenders because they did not contain real estate auction in the title.

To further qualify I ran the report with the allinurl qualifier which will only look at pages that have the search term in contained in the url.

The search term real estate auction still shows a strong KEI.   Notice that the KEI for insurance auto auction dropped till it was taken out (fell into the low 80’s).  Same thing happened with foreclosure aution.

Online Auction started out looking like the best but fell from a KEI of 1804 to 374.

Though any of the search terms with KEI of 100 above will work well, my choice is real estate auction.   I liked it enough to set up a squidoo lens
